Sucralose is an organic compound with the chemical name 2,3,4,6-tetra-O-(trichloroacetyl)-α-D-glucose. It is a white crystalline powder that is a stable, water-soluble solid at room temperature.
Sucralose is usually obtained by reacting sucrose with trichloroacetyl chloride under alkaline conditions.
